We have already established the absolute locations of both Iran (32.4279° N, 53.6880° E) and Iraq (33.2232° N, 43.6793° E) in the previous slide. Their relative location can be described a few different ways however. We could make statements such as: Iran borders Iraq (or vice versa), they are located in the Middle East, it is about a 20 hour plane ride to Iran from Los Angeles, or that they are in the Northern Hemisphere. The relative location of these two countries could be described in often similar ways due in part to their absolute locations being so close to another.
